Ready Set School for June

Kindergarten preparation for 3-5 year olds and their parent.
June 6, 7, and 8     Telephone Talk- Learn to take turns speaking and listening
June 13, 14, 15     Where Does it Go? - Learn to sort and classify things
June 20, 21, 22     I'm Growing Up! - Learn about independent activity
June 27, 28, 29     Playtime- Learn to share and take turns

Wednesday and Thursday class is conducted in English entirely from 10:30 to 11:30 am
Friday class is bilingual side by side Spanish and English from 10:00 to11:00 am

We have a story, poems, songs and craft activity to go with the lesson.

Earthquake Drill

Due to Wilson Elementary's earthquake drill on Friday May 25, we will have to close the center right after RSS at 11:00 am. The playground will be closed off and no parents will be allowed on the grounds while the drill is going on. We are sorry. Just phone in your renewals.

Closed for Memorial Day week

The center will be closed Memorial Day week from May 28-June1. If you have materials due during that time, just call 755-5171 and leave a message. We will renew your materials. We will be back on Monday June 4 and ready to open the library from 9am to 4pm. 
Ready Set School kindergarten prep classes continue throughout the summer each Wed, Thurs and Friday morning with a different lesson each week.
Around the World in 80 Days open house will begin Monday June 4 from 1pm  to 3:30 pm each afternoon Monday to Friday. We will be going to a different country every day. We will complete our journey on August 20. We are looking for volunteers to help present a country. If you are interested please email our director or come in to tell us. director@loganfamilycenter.org
We still have a few spots in June Love and Logic All Ages Parenting class. Wednesday 7-9pm on June 6, 13 and 20th. The July class in Early Childhood Love and Logic is Tuesday evenings July 10, 17, and 31. August class Love and Logic for All Ages is Wed Aug 8, 15 and 22 has space at this time. A free workbook is given to each individual or couple taking the class.
Grandparents are welcome too.

Baking Tips
Aggie Village Tuesday May 15 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. in the MASA office. Baking Tips. Bring the kids!
Free food samples will be served. You'll get tasty recipes and nutrition information and help make your next baking experience "a piece of cake"!

Mommy and Me class
Parents learn great nutrition info and how to create easy, inexpensive and tasty meals for the family. Thursday May 17 from 11:00am to 12:30 pm in the Cache County Administration Building multi-purpose room 179 North Main Street, Logan. Call and reserve your spot 435-752-6263 at least 24 hours in advance. Class will be about finding your personal calorie needs and ensuring you are eating the right amount. Bring the kids. They will have a nutrition activity and get to make something for you to taste. Class size is limited.

Free Movie Night

Our friends at the Logan Library are sponsoring a family movie night on Monday evenings 6:30 pm in the Jim Bridger Room 255 North Main Street (just inside the library East entrance). They are even providing the popcorn.

More Ready! Set! School!

Kindergarten preparation classes continue through the spring and summer. We are teaching the 20 lessons of the Ready! Set! School! curriculum three days a week. Wednesday and Thursday lesson begins at 10:30 am and goes until 11:30 am. On Fridays the same lesson is taught in side by side bilingual Spanish and English from 10 to 11 am. One lesson is taught each week so parents can chose the one day of the week that best fits their schedule.

Week of May 2-4      How to Handle Books Properly
Week of May 9-11    Practice Counting and Understanding more and less
Week of May 16-18  Big Muscle Activity: How to balance, hop and stop
Week of May 23-25  How to express your emotions in good ways

There will be no class Memorial Day week May 30-June 1

Every class includes songs, chants, rhymes, story-reading, and a parent and child craft activity.
Families also can check out books, games and toys to take home and practice skills during the week.
A free bag with child materials and parent toolkit is available for families who have a child between 3-5 years old residing in the boundaries of Logan or Cache District.
